Thought I’d take a moment or two away from housework and spend a little time here today! I’ve been buys getting ready for my monthly Cards & Coffee both in my stamp room and otherwise. I have also been participating in my upline’s January challenge. Every week for the past few weeks, she has been challenging us to create cards that meet specific requirements. It has been fun to participate and to see my team members’ entries. All I can say is I belong to a very creative team!
I never thought I’d love a Valentine set as much as I love this one. Sealed with Love stamp set is so cute! And the Love Notes Framelits are really cute too. Here is another Valentine card I created with both of these items for our most recent challenge, which was to use a stamp set from the current Occasions Catalog with a new embellishment.
The two new embellishments I used are the Real Red ribbon from the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack and a heart from the Sending Love Embellishments. This is a simple and quick card. Not sure which of my children to send it to. I might have to make another just like it. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed your visit here today! Until next time…
It has been awhile since I’ve been here. I am just now getting back to normal after the holidays. I sincerely hope all of you had a wonderful time over the holidays with your friends and family.
December was a busy month for us, as I am sure it was for all of you. It was an extra special December as my daughter graduated from nursing school on the 17th of December. She already has an undergraduate degree, but decided to change careers a few years ago. She completed a very accelerated one-year nursing program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Denver which she started last January. There were many times when she called and said, “I think I’m gonna move over to a more traditional program.” And I replied, “No, you won’t. It will be over before you know it and if you switch now you know you will be disappointed.” I am sure it was tough…I went through an accelerated teaching program when I was in school…I’m sure her program was even more difficult. But she did it! She finished it! She graduated Magna Cum Laude…along with many of the others in her class. I guess you need to be a very smart over achievers to get through a tough program like that! She sure doesn’t take after me where that is concerned! But we are proud of her. We always have been and always will be. Here she is. The graduate!
She is spending her days studying to pass her state exam which she takes in a few weeks, and then she will be moving right into her first nursing job at a hospital in Denver. It never ceases to amaze me how she gets jobs before she is even finished with school. It happened after she graduated 10 years ago, and it has happened again. But that is a good thing, I guess.
Enough talking about my child, and time to share one of the things I’ve been working on since the new Occasions Catalog has debuted. I just love this stamp set. I think EVERYONE should have it. And I LOVE the colors of the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper. My eyes always move toward brighter colors and this paper is just that. And the Sprinkles Embellishments look yummy! Everything in the Cool Treats Suite make me feel happy and looks good enough to eat.
For the window on the front of this card, I used the second largest scallop circle from the circle framelits.
Hope your visit here was enjoyable. Until next time…
