Oh Hello Medallion

So this is Thursday of spring break and I am already commiserating about going back to work on Monday.  Geesh!  It must be time to retire!  LOL!  My break has been relaxing and productive both at the same time.  I’ve not only accomplished many needed tasks around my house, but I have also had the opportunity to stamp a little too.  So far this week, I’ve stamped three full days and I have enjoyed every minute.

I discovered the layout for this card in a stamping book that a friend of mine has, but for the life of me, I can’t remember the name of the book.  I think it was called The Best of Stamp It! Cards.  The book is a Leisure Arts Publication.  Anyway, I loved the layout and wondered what I could do with it, and this is what I created.  Hope you like it.

Paper Pumpkin Remake

Happy Spring!  Although you would never know it was spring here.  We had a really bad storm yesterday…it even closed some roads and there were many accidents around town.  I did stay in most of the day and spent several hours in my stamp room.  I went out once, early in the morning, to take my son to work.  It took awhile to get there and back, as the roads were snow packed and slippery.  But I made it home safely, and as I said, I spent the rest of the day in my stamp room.

If you signed up for My Paper Pumpkin, the some of the elements from this card may look familiar.  I used the Hey There stamp set from the kit and a lot of the design elements and recreated the card using my own materials.  If you haven’t joined My Paper Pumpkin you really should.  For only $19.95 a month, Stampin’ Up! will send you a card kit that contains everything you will need to make four adorable cards.  You can join and cancel at any time.  You can also resume receiving kits after you cancel.  It is an awesome program and the really cool part of it is it only takes about 30 minutes at the most to assemble your cards.  Click on the link for Stamps in the Mail at the right and you will go directly to the sign up page.   Don’t forget to add me as your demonstrator:  Josanna P. Madison Avenue Matchbook Cover

Happy St. Patty’s Day to all of my Irish friends!  Hope your day is wonderful and filled with the Luck o’ the Irish.  🙂

Today’s post is a little different in that it is not a card.  Instead I created a matchbook cover for a notepad that I had lying around.  Actually, I have several of them and was wondering what to do with them and this idea came to mind.  It’s pretty easy…it had to be because I figured it out all by myself!  LOL!

The notepad I used measures 3 3/4 by 4 3/4, so I cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock 4″ by 10 1/4″ long. I placed the long edge of the card stock at the top of my Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) and scored my paper at the 1/2″, 3/4″, 4 3/4″, and 5″ marks to create the matchbook. I used sticky strip (104294) to adhere the notepad to the cover. Then I decorated it! You can use a larger notepad if you want, you would just have to adjust the width and length of your paper and the score lines. It is simple! I hope you like it.

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Hello, and as I said in my first blog post here…Welcome to my new blog home.  It has taken me a little while and frustration to learn how to set things up here, but I think I have a general understanding of how things are done.  At least enough to get me going.  It’s a lot different here than it is at fancyforstampin.blogspot.com, but I think I’m gonna like this a little more because I think it looks a little more “professional”.  I’d be interested in knowing what you think.

This is a birthday card  I made recently, and I really like it.  It was pretty easy to do.  Again, it is very similar to a card I saw done in the current issue of Paper Crafts Magazine, but I used my own wonderful Stampin’ Up! product on it and I think I got the better end of the deal.  🙂  I used a Sale-a-bration stamp set and ribbon on it, and a few things from the Spring Catalog.

To be able to order this stamp set and ribbon from the Sale-a-bration Catalog,  your order must total $50.00 or more for one free item from the Sale-a-bration Catalog.  When you take a look through the Spring and Annual Catalogs, spending $50.00 is not hard to do.  You will find so many things that you will absolutely have to have it will be amazing!
