I see I haven’t been around for a few weeks. At least not since Mother’s Day. No, I haven’t fallen off the face of Earth. I just haven’t been motivated to do much stamping lately. I really haven’t been motivated to do much of anything for that matter. But that is going to change.
School ended this past week along with my teaching career. I am now officially a RETIRED teacher. But that doesn’t mean I have given up on my desire to teach/mentor young people. I am sure I will either be a substitute teacher or work part-time in a classroom somewhere. After all, I am of the baby boom generation and everything I read about it says baby boomers are “redefining” retirement. I have even considered applying for a part-time job at Starbuck’s, but I would never bring home any money! LOL! The past week has been emotional to say the least, but I realize I have navigated other major life changes… the birth of my children, my divorce, the death of a parent…I will manage with this one also. And if I must say so myself…I will thrive!
I have many interests other than work. If you are reading this post, you know one of them is stamping. Another is drama/acting. I’ve always wanted to do that again. I did a lot of it when I was in college a million years ago. I tried my hand at stand up comedy locally. That was awhile ago before I entered education. I guess you could say that I didn’t really give it up when I moved into the classroom. There were many days when I felt like a stand up comedian in front of my students. Writing is also something I’ve always dreamed of doing. I’d like to write a book, but I am not sure what it would be about. Maybe I will call it Confessions of a Middle School Teacher. 🙂 We’ll see…time will tell, and it looks like I will have plenty of it. Maybe even enough to do TWO posts a week!
To go along with life changes, I’ve created this graduation card. I hope you like it. I’ve used some new stuff on it.
Until next time…Happy Stamping!
