Mother’s Day Every Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you!  It has been way too long since I was last here.  Don’t really know what has kept me away.  I guess you could say that I just haven’t been motivated to do much stamping lately.  But my gift today was the ability to spend the day in my stamp room, and I have enjoyed it very much.

I celebrated Mother’s Day with my son last evening.  He and my husband took  me out to dinner.  My son wanted to take me out today, but I suggested we celebrate early as Mother’s Day is always a difficult day to eat in a restaurant unless you make a reservation weeks in advance.  We never do that.  My daughter takes her last final tomorrow at noon, so she will be home later tomorrow afternoon.  We will celebrate again when she gets home.

My mother and grandmother always said that Mother’s Day should be every day.  We should show our mothers we love and respect them every day, not just on Mother’s Day.  I agree with them.  I never really understood what they meant until I had my own children.  Yes, it is nice to be signaled out on Mother’s Day and treated with a little extra loving, but when we think of all our mothers do for us, we SHOULD celebrate them every day.  I do know that my children love and respect me, so not being able to be with them on THIS day is okay.  Mother’s Day CAN be any day.

The card I have to share today is for a student of mine that will be receiving the Outstanding Language Arts Student Award on the last day of school.  We always have an awards assembly on the students’ last day.   Their last day is the day before the last day of my teaching career.

I can’t believe that MY last day is two weeks away.  I attended the Retirement Tea the district holds every year this past week.  The last few weeks have been an emotional time for me.  I have been feeling  a multitude of emotions in the weeks leading up to my last day.  I will share them at another time.

This card is made with NEW paper.  It will become available in the upcoming Annual Catalog on June 1st.  Since I’m not sure if it is okay to post it yet online or not, I will not tell you the names of the colors or the name of the designer series paper.  I also will not give you the item numbers for it.  Same with the ink.  It’s all new…except for the stamp set or the white paper.  🙂  Here it is.

Your're Amazing Winner

Hope you enjoyed your visit here today.  Until next time…

Happy Stamping!
