Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing a Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary card I made for my aunt and uncle; also my God-parents in Baptism.  Here is a photo of the two of them.  It was just taken this past August.

Aunt Jane and Uncle Sylvester--60 years together September 10, 2016 Photo taken August 23, 2015

My uncle is my father’s younger brother.  My father passed away in 2004, and their older sister several years before that.  My uncle reminds me a great deal of my father.  When I was a child, I used to spend weeks in the summer with my aunt, uncle, and my cousins Michael, David, and Lisa.  My cousins in turn would come and spend weeks with me and my family in the same summer.  It is a fond childhood memory that I will always have.

So, on September 10th they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  Here is the card I made for them.

60th Wedding Anniversary - 2

Sixtieth anniversaries are diamond anniversaries.  I don’t know many people who make it to that wedding anniversary these days.  Anyway, the closest I could get to diamonds is the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper behind the silver foil birds.  Silver had to do for the rest.  I used the recently retired Ribbon Border Punch for the edges of the banner on the card.  I haven’t been able to get myself to part with it yet.  I also used a silver Encore Pad, also retired, and a Scallop Circle Die for the Big Shot that isn’t a Stampin’ Up! item.

Hope you enjoyed your visit here today.  Until next time…

Happy Stamping!

New Catalog, New Rewards Program

Geesh!  I’ve been busy!  Don’t know what I’ve been busy doing, but I do know that I have been busy doing it!  LOL!

On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week we had part of our driveway and our front porch and steps replaced.  I personally didn’t have to do anything for the project, but it just seems that the disruption in my daily routine threw everything off and I found it more difficult to get my normal things accomplished.  That’s why I say I don’t know what I’ve been busy doing, but I’ve been busy doing it.  Yesterday as the concrete was being poured, I found it more interesting to be outside watching than inside doing things.  The neighbors apparently felt the same way because we pretty much had a block party with everyone that stopped by to see what was going on.

Our new annual catalog goes live today, and in honor of the new catalog I want to introduce a new Fancy for Shopping  Rewards Program I am launching today.  But before I do that, I want to share a new anniversary card I created.

Everything Eleonore Anniversary

The supplies I used to create this card are listed at the end of this post.

Here’s how my shopping rewards program works.

Best of Brides and Babies

It has been another busy day today.  I’ve managed to get nothing but a lot of running around town done.  And I had such big plans.  I played personal chauffeur for my 28-year-old daughter today.  She hasn’t had a car since returning from her six month trip to India in May or a cell phone for that matter, so today I spent running her around town getting set up with cell phone service and looking at cars.  She purchased a scooter when she got back to town, but scooters are only good in “nice” weather.  She’s finally finding work and won’t be able to borrow my car much anymore.  I go back to work on Monday.  So she finally did settle on a little Subaru that should keep her in wheels for a while until she finds better employment and find something better.

Today’s card is for a cousin of mine that will be celebrating fifty years of wedded bliss this coming September.  September 6th to be exact!  I was the flower girl in his wedding when I was 6 years old.  Now you know how old I am.  I am not ashamed.  My father used to say of birthdays, “Keep’em coming!”  I don’t like the alternative!
