Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary Card

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing a Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary card I made for my aunt and uncle; also my God-parents in Baptism.  Here is a photo of the two of them.  It was just taken this past August.

Aunt Jane and Uncle Sylvester--60 years together September 10, 2016 Photo taken August 23, 2015

My uncle is my father’s younger brother.  My father passed away in 2004, and their older sister several years before that.  My uncle reminds me a great deal of my father.  When I was a child, I used to spend weeks in the summer with my aunt, uncle, and my cousins Michael, David, and Lisa.  My cousins in turn would come and spend weeks with me and my family in the same summer.  It is a fond childhood memory that I will always have.

So, on September 10th they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  Here is the card I made for them.

60th Wedding Anniversary - 2

Sixtieth anniversaries are diamond anniversaries.  I don’t know many people who make it to that wedding anniversary these days.  Anyway, the closest I could get to diamonds is the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper behind the silver foil birds.  Silver had to do for the rest.  I used the recently retired Ribbon Border Punch for the edges of the banner on the card.  I haven’t been able to get myself to part with it yet.  I also used a silver Encore Pad, also retired, and a Scallop Circle Die for the Big Shot that isn’t a Stampin’ Up! item.

Hope you enjoyed your visit here today.  Until next time…

Happy Stamping!
